Irate Gov't started in the summer of 2002. A good friend of mine and myself(Jeremy) had been playing together for a couple of months after I found out he played the drums. I played guitar and sang. And really that was it for a while. Eventually, my friend introduced me to Bryan. For a long time after that, Bryan sang, I played guitar and my other friend played drums. Finally we noticed that we were getting nowhere. Bryan got sick of singing and having my other friend on drums was just not working. We took a break for a while and Bryan and I joined forces again in 2003 and the line up at this point was different. After we took a break, Bryan got a Drumset for christmas. When we got back together, he could play fast and keep time. This was more or less exactly what I needed. Bryan and I became good friends and started playing just him on drums and me on vocals and guitar. Our songs were cheesy and entirely unintelligent. Eventually, when I got significantly better on guitar and I started playing leads and solos, we started talking about having a bass player. We were in desperate need of someone that could keep some kind of rythim while I played leads. We went through a very long line of bass players. Between the Modest Mouse kid and our midget friend Dan, we eventually got someone that fit the band quite well: Steve. Great guy, great bass player, lives in Merrick. We had about three rehearsals with Steve and within those rehearsals sparked the begining of something big. Something consisting of power and force: True Punk Rock! Our mentalities concerning politics, the music industry, the social class system, and the human race were the same and remain the same to this day. Unfortunately, a month or so after the third rehearsal, this started to go down hill. Steve was rehearsing with us significantly less and our interest in the band was getting weaker and weaker because of this. Steve had to go. Steve was gone within a 5 minute period of conversation. That was it. Bryan and I desperately were in search of a bass player once again. We played with this kid Kevin for a while and we recorded some songs. We had to kick Kevin out. Our musical tastes were dividing into two seperate genres and it just wasn't working. We went back to our old friend Dan and now we are rockin' out and it's goooood. That's it.
